Swedish Plural Nouns (Declensions) Explained Simply

Swedish nouns are divided into five declensions (plural groups). The ending depends on whether it is an 'en' or 'ett' word, and what letter it ends with.

The 5 Groups

1. -or (en words ending in -a) 2. -ar (en words ending in -e or consonants) 3. -er / -r (en/ett words with stress on last syllable, or ending in consonants) 4. -n (ett words ending in vowels) 5. No change (ett words ending in consonants)
